76 Students of DPS Bhilai Qualify in JEE Main

Students of DPS Bhilai excel in AISSCE 2015
The students of DPS Bhilai have performed commendably in the All India Senior
School Certificate Examination 2015 conducted by the CBSE. Out of 452 students,
119 students have secured 90%+ marks, 282 students have secured 80%+ marks and
350 students have secured 75%+ marks. Average % of marks secured by the students
is 82.25.
In PCM/PCB group, Simi Karan, daughter of Mrs. Sujata Karan & Mr. D.N. Karan,
topped the school with 98.4%., Nupur Baghel, daughter of Mrs. Deepti Baghel & Mr.
Kuntal Baghel secured the second position with 97.2% and Swadha Gupta daughter of
Mrs. Samidha Gupta & Mr. A.K. Gupta, secured the third position with 96.8% marks.
In the Commerce Group, Kartika Chamadia, son of Mrs. Dolly Chamadia & Mr.
Sandeep Chamadia, secured the top position with a score of 96.6%. Harshita Gupta,
daughter of Mrs. Sonali Gupta & Mr. Ashish Kumar Gupta, secured the second
position with 96.2%. Rishabh Agarwal, son of Mrs. Gayatri Agarwal & Mr. Sharad
Kumar Agarwal and Rishabh Agarwal, son of Mrs. Kiran Agarwal & Mr. Mahesh
Kumar Agarwal, shared the third position with 95.6% marks.

Aarushi Chatterjee became State Chess Champion in Under-9
Girls Category:
Aarushi Chatterjee, a student of Class V, became the State Chess
Champion in under-9 (Girls) category at the State Selection Chess
Championship 2015 (April 2-5, 2015) held at Raipur. She will now
officially represent Chhattisgarh at the 29th National Under-9
Chess Championship scheduled to be held at Ahmedabad, Gujarat in June, 2015.
Chhattisgarh Vigyan Paheli, 2014-’15: It is a
matter of great exultation for DPS Bhilai that in the
Chhattisgarh Vigyan Paheli, 2014-’15 organised by
the State Council of Educational Research and
Training, Raipur, out of the 58 participants from 29
Districts in the State Level competition, Swasti
Shreya Mishra and Harshita Dokania won the First
and Second Positions respectively at the State
Level.
This contest was held in three phases i.e. District,
Zonal and State Level. The students who qualified at State Level received a
Cash Award of Rs. 3,000/- and a Merit Certificate each.

Rajasthani Music & Dance
Programme (Folk) - A
SPICMACAY initiative at
DPS Bhilai:
A Rajasthani Music and Dance
programme (Folk) was held at
the Delhi Public School, Risali
Sector
School
Complex
on 23April 2015. This was a
part of the SPICMACAY initiative that aims at ensuring that Indian Culture and
Heritage is given its due recognition amongst the youth.
The performers were Bhutte Khan ji, the lead singer who also played the
Harmonium, Latif Khan ji who played the Khartal, Pappu Khan ji who played
the Dholak and Kallu Khan ji who played the Kamaicha. The dancers were: Hira
ji and Monica ji.
The performance was a part of
Dharohar – conceived in
Barmer, Rajasthan by Bhutte
Khan ji Manganiar a folk lore
promoter of Rajasthan. The
dance
form
presented
‘Kabeliya’ - is one of the most
sensuous dance forms of
Rajasthan, the movements and
costumes bear a resemblance to
two serpents. The programme also featured a presentation of folk music by the
artistes.
At the outset, the artistes were welcomed with floral tokens, this was followed
by the lighting of lamp and they commenced their performance by briefly
explaining the way their musical instruments were used. This was followed by
an enchanting blend of music and dance.
At the end, the Cultural Secretary of the school proposed the Vote of Thanks in
which she thanked the artistes, Principal Shri Parshant Vashishta and the School
SPICMACAY coordinator Mrs. Tuli Tiwary for giving the students an
opportunity to witness a programme of this magnitude.
