Grants from the Frieda Scott Charitable Trust There have been a few changes at the Frieda Scott Trust that we thought local charities should know about. We still offer grants to local voluntary/charitable organisations in South Lakeland (and the former Westmorland area) with particular concern for those who are working with the most disadvantaged and vulnerable in our society, but here’s what’s new: • they’re not just small grants … Trustees will now consider requests of up to £20,000 per year • even larger grants will occasionally be made for projects that make a big difference to disadvantaged groups • multi-year applications will also be considered where there is an ongoing or longer-term need • as before, Trustees will consider requests for either capital (e.g. equipment) or revenue (e.g. salaries) • our meetings are every 3 months so you never have long to wait for a decision • individual groups (e.g. scouts & guides) are welcome to apply rather than going through their regional body, including local amateur sporting clubs. The Application Form can be downloaded from our website (www.friedascott.org.uk) and we always encourage anyone who is interested to contact us before applying so that we can help with advice. Call the Trust Secretary, Naomi Brown on 01539 742608.
