CARITAS CARE is looking for volunteers for
The Bridging the Gap which provides advice and
support to vulnerable elderly people with hearing loss.
Some volunteers go on home visits or provide a
service at an outreach drop in session in either
Millom,
Cockermouth,
Egremont,
Keswick,
Maryport, Whitehaven, Wigton, Workington which
take place monthly. Volunteers can help people to use
new hearing aids, fixing broken hearing aids,
exchanging NHS batteries, demonstrating telephone,

CADAS is looking for Volunteer Board Members to
oversee its finances and support the organisation's
growth. The Board meets
every two months on
a Tuesday (during the day) - meetings alternate
between Barrow and Carlisle. They work to help
improve peoples' lives by helping them tackle and
overcome problems with alcohol and drugs.

Chrysalis in Wigton is looking for volunteers to
support adults with learning disabilities. They have
volunteering opportunities in specific activities for
example gardening and growing, pottery, retail,
music, catering, drama, arts and crafts as well as
providing support for people with a learning

SPEECH AFTER STROKE SCHEME is looking for
volunteers to support people who have had a stroke
by offering weekly home visits in West Cumbria. They
also need volunteers to support their Lunch Groups
which meet monthly and they enjoy a meal together.
The groups meet Wednesdays in Allerdale and Millom
and Thursdays in Copeland. Volunteer drivers are
also needed to transport clients and in particular for

VISITING SCHEME needs new volunteers to join the
panel who visit detainees held at Workington and
Whitehaven Police Stations. Unannounced visits to
Police Custodies are made every week, in pairs, to
check on the welfare and well-being of people who
are detained; to ensure that their rights are observed
and that they are looked after appropriately.
Commitment approximately is once a month. Closing

CUMBRIA LEARNING NETWORKS are looking for
Volunteers to help in their museums to support
working with children and young people on their
learning programmes which could be family activities,
school sessions, creating loan boxes (boxes of
objects), guided tours, front of house or anything
related to ‘learning’ in its broadest sense. Contact

their Care in the Home Service. Their health and
social care work offers valuable time-limited support
for individuals vulnerable to crisis whether they're
recovering from an operation, need a wheelchair or

YOUNG CUMBRIA - WEST, works across Allerdale
and Copeland and are looking to recruit more
volunteers. The majority of their work is within youth
clubs and tends to be evening work; they deliver both
generic youth work and targeted youth support

individual willing to take on the role of Chairing – and
providing leadership to – the vital Citizens Advice
Consortium for Cumbria. The post is voluntary and
will involve some travel to Bureau locations across
