Marriage Certificate
After the wedding ceremony, the authorities have to process the wedding license in the registry office in
Montego Bay for the wedding certificate. The process typically takes one to two months. After this
period, the wedding coordinator is responsible for sending the certificate.
If you need notarized, certified copies of this certificate, please let the wedding coordinator know.
Legal Requirements
We recommend arriving at Iberostar Rose Hall Beach at least three days in advance to review with the
wedding coordinator with all the aspects of your wedding day.
Jamaican law requires that the couple be in the country of Jamaica at least 24 hours before the
wedding celebration. In addition to this requirement, the couple must send via courier to the wedding
coordinator the following documentation to legalize the marriage:
• Notarized copy of certified birth certificates of the couple on which the father’s name of the father of
the bride and of the groom must appear.
• Notarized, certified copy of the couple's passports
• Where applicable, certified copy of divorce/death
• Profession of the couple
• Profession and names of parents of the bride and groom
