The UP Corps of Cadets and the UP
Vanguard Inc. – University Chapter once again proudly
present UP ROTC DASH 2015: A fun run to Support USOC.
The UP ROTC fun run started with the
UP ROTC Centennial Run in 2012, followed
by UP ROTC DASH in 2013, both with the
goal of raising publicity and awareness on
the ROTC Program. Recognizing the relevance of,
and pursuant to the shift of focus in disaster risk
and reduction management, (DRRM), and with its
recent experience of holding relief operations
during the onslaughtof Typhoon Yolanda, UP ROTC
DASH 2014 last year aimed to raise funds for the establishment of the DMST
Complex (UP ROTC training grounds) as center for disaster relief and response.
True to its goal, the UP Corps of Cadets continue to make active use of the
Complex for relief operations and storing of relief goods.
This would not have been possible without your generous support.
On March 29, 2015, we will be holding UP ROTC
DASH 2015. The activity aims to raise funds for USOC so
that emergency preparedness will spread widely not
only within UP ROTC but also within the larger sectors
in the UP Community.
This year, our DRRM advocacy is for capability
building through training. The UP Corps of Cadets have adopted an additional
program of instruction called Urban Survival Orientation Course (USOC) which
includes, among others, competencies in disaster management in an urban
setting.
We hope that you can once again support us in our endeavor by becoming one
