Foster & Adoptive Parent Advocacy Center (FAPAC) Is hosting our annual Peer Advocacy Training Program (P.AT.) A comprehensive three-day training to prepare foster/ adoptive/ kinship parents of DC's children to understand multiple aspects of the DC foster care system. Friday, May 15 – 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm Saturday, May 16 – 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Sunday, May 17 – 8:30 am to 4:30 pm This training is meant to be attended in full; workshops do not stand-alone Topics include: CFSA & DC Government Structure Advocating in Family Court Accessing Health/Mental Health Services New CFSA Programs and Policies Legal Issues in Child Welfare Allegation Investigations Developing Advocacy Skills Local and Federal Legislation This training is free! Pre-registration is required!
