Student Government serves as the official voice of students and ensures
that input is heard from the halls of campus to the lawmaking hubs of D.C.
Freshmen can run for SG representative and Longhorn Legislative Aide

Residence Life staff and students will lead discussions about what to
expect when you check-in, what to bring with you, as well as share tips on
living with a roommate. You will also learn about the benefits of getting
connected to the residence hall community and how to engage with and
lead on your floor.

Meet faculty, students, and staff from the African and African Diaspora
Studies (AADS), or Black Studies, department to learn about how UT
Austin’s Black history has helped shape life on the 40 Acres. Student
leaders will share the ins and outs on how to be academically successful,
and financially stable, at UT-Austin, in particular as low- income and/or
minority students.

Student receiving financial aid are required to attend this session. Financial aid counselors will explain how to complete financial aid requirements and avoid errors that can cause delays. You will also learn the steps
needed to pay your upcoming tuition and on-campus housing bill. Parents
are more than welcome to join this session.
