Yeehaw!! It’s ALMOST Stampede time and Dentistry for All is proud to announce our first annual
Boots, Buckles and Belts fundraiser. This event is in support of DFA, the Alex Dental Health
Bus and CUPS Dental Clinic.
Working together, these three organizations are bringing dental care to those in need locally and
internationally who simply have no financial means to access quality care.
For over 20 years, Dentistry For All has been providing much needed dental care to the
impoverished residents of remote areas of Guatemala and Nicaragua. The people of these
regions have extremely limited access to health care and the prognosis for most is to lose their
natural teeth. For people already disadvantaged in so many ways, being resigned to this fate
is an unnecessarily cruel outcome that is, fortunately, avoidable. Thanks to our many dedicated
volunteers and the generous support of donors we are able to change countless lives through
restorative care and education.
The Alex Dental Health Bus (DHB) provides essential preventative oral health services and
support, primarily to children and youth in identified high need areas. This mobile dental care
ultimately improves the quality of life for Calgary’s most vulnerable youth. It is estimated that
80% of tooth decay is found in 25% of children, and these children are primarily from lowincome populations.
For over 20 years, CUPS Dental clinic has provided dental care to Calgary’s most marginalized
and vulnerable. Today, CUPS Dental provides extractions, restorative and preventative oral
health care to low-income adults and children. The Clinic also undertakes outreach dental care
at Calgary shelters and facilitates the SMILES Denture program. Oral health is an important part
of CUPS integrated health, education and housing programs that help struggling Calgarians
overcome the challenges of poverty and reach their full potential.
Join us, Sunday July 5th at the Westin Hotel downtown Calgary for the inaugural Boots, Buckles,
and Belts party! There will be a cash bar & Westin Smokehouse, live music, silent and live
auctions and many exciting and surprize raffles for all to enjoy!
We are hopeful we can count on your support by donating an item or service for the
