The Schools Division Office (SDO) of Sorsogon Official Logo The Schools Division of Sorsogon logo is represented by a dominant green color which symbolizes wealth, generosity, protection and calmness. These characteristics are innate to Sorsogeños as they are known to exude virtues and values towards fellowmen. The round green circle covering all the elements of the logo represents unity and wholeness. All DepEd personnel and stakeholders in the Division of Sorsogon are one in carrying out the policies and programs of the Department of Education towards providing quality service and service with a smile to all its clientele. A map is featured in the logo to locate the 14 different municipalities (as shown by the varied colors of the map’s regions) under the supervision of the Schools Division Office in an atmosphere of strong collaboration and cooperation of the different stakeholders provincewide. The gentle giant of Donsol otherwise known by the name of Butanding by which the Sorsogon has earned global recognition is a representation of the entire province which is considered as a big division with 80 secondary and 450 elementary schools, being manned by gentle-hearted, competent and strong-willed DepEd officials. The torch symbolizes the universal meaning of enlightenment for all learners as it illuminates the two figures of dancing happy children. The orange and red child figures represent the First and Second Congressional districts, the two subdivisions in the province, comprised of learners who are creative, cheerful, courageous, and passionate future leaders. The pili, known to be a raw ingredient in manufacturing world-class perfumes, is another symbolic element of the province. As it spells abundance and high potentials, this symbolizes also the potential of the Sorsogeño learners to be a part of a world-class industry. Black as it is, the pili represents the elegance and sophistication of DepEd personnel in delivering quality education and in the drive and willpower to achieve an academic performance at par with or even greater than local and global benchmarks. This new logo was conceptualized and designed by Mr. Gilbert Ian Z. Apostol, Education Program Supervisor I for Learning Resource Management and Development System.
