Danish Business Delegation to CUBA

Cuba has become the center of attention after the process
initiated between the US and Cuba.
The Cuban ministry for Foreign Trade and Investments has
launched 246 projects where they are looking for foreign
investors. These projects will both contribute to a growing Cuban
market, but can also contribute to a growing Caribbean market.
The projects are estimated to include investments for USD 3
billion per year the next many year.
Confederation of Danish Industry and Senior Advisor Ole Sohn is
planning a Danish business delegation to Cuba 26-28 May 2015
with the purpose of learning more about the market opportunities
for Danish companies, and to match Danish companies with
relevant Cuban companies, organizations and officials.

WHY CUBA
Cuba has 11.5 million inhabitants and furthermore 3 million tourists visiting every year. A number of
factors make Cuba attractive as a business destination:







A highly educated and skilled workforce
A new and rapidly growing private sector
Low levels of crime and violence
Geography and infrastructure: Cuba is placed centrally in the Americas, and Cuba has 10
international airports and a new deep-water harbor (Port Mariel)
Increasing GDP Growth: 3.1 pct. in 2012 compared to 2.4 in 2010 (source: US Gov)
Cuba is currently working on a currency reform to merge the country’s two currencies
New economic reforms: Cuba has adopted a new law (no. 118) with the purpose of attracting
more foreign investment, has created a new special development zone (ZED Mariel) with an
attractive tax regime and has announced that Cuba is looking to attract USD 3 billion in foreign
investment annually.
TENTATIVE PROGRAM

site visits.
The final program will reflect the
preferences of the Danish business
delegation

PRICE: DKK 15,000
The price covers participation of two company representatives. A third representative can join for an
additional cost of DKK 3,000 + VAT. Should the company wish to sign up for more than one sector the
participation fee for joining an additional sector with one representative will be DKK 3,000 + VAT.
The price is calculated on a basis of eight participating companies and assuming that export
promotional support is granted for the delegation through the Danish Trade Council.
HOTEL AND TRAVEL INFORMATION
The price does not include airfare and hotel accommodation. Upon your registration, you will receive a

Local transportation between commercial activities in Cuba is included in the price.
