PROFILE OF DISTRICT 3860 GOVERNOR SALVADOR GAZA ESTUDILLO “Buddy” ROTARY YEAR 2015 – 2016 District Governor Buddy was formerly connected with the Armed Forces of the Philippines, serving the Institution for 24 years wherein he occupied major Command and staff assignments in the Philippine Army From 1972 to 1995. He retired with the rank of Colonel. He Also held various important postings as Regional Director of the Office of Civil Defense, Department of National Defense in Region 7, 8, 10, 12 and Caraga. Some of the significant seminars, trainings, conferences and workshops that District Governor Buddy was attended, both in the government and civilian sectors, are the following: ASEAN Preparedness Seminar; DAP Inter-agency Program for Executive Development; Executive Workshop for Regional Directors of Government Agencies in Humanitarian Response in Mindanao; Typhoon Experiment (TOPEX) and Warning Dissemination/Information Exchange in Tokyo, Japan; Basic Incident Command System Training in Hanoi, Vietnam; ASEAN Regional Disaster Exercise in Cambodia; Rotary International Conference on Peace and Development in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Rotary District Conventions; and Rotary District Assemblies. District Governor Buddy is a Past President of the Rotary Club of San Juanico in Tacloban City; and Outstanding Club President in RY 2000 – 2001; Past District Secretary of District 3860 in RY 2002-2003; Past DISCON Chairman in RY 2002-2003; Past DGR-PRM in RY 2002-2003; Past Assistant Governor – Zone 3C, RY 2008-2010; Senior Assistant Governor for Administration of District 3860 in RY 2011-2012. He also held several committees chairmanship. He is likewise a Multiple Paul Harris Fellow. He was also responsible for the organization of the Rotary Club of Leyte Gulf in 2003 and the Rotary Club of kankabato in 2011. He is a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Cagayan de Oro Chapter; the BCBP Tacloban Chapter and the Beta Sigma Fraternity, Divine Word University Tacloban Chapter. District Governor Buddy is retired from government service, but is presently active as Chairman of the Board of the Tacloban Guardians Multi-Purpose Cooperative (TAGUMPCO) which he organized in 2009 to enhance the status of traffic enforcers. He has a Master in Educational Management degree and is happily married to the former Cynthia Tan Yared of Ormoc City, and a doting father to his three children – Celeste, Celica and Chaddle. xxXxx
