High School Seniors from each of the nine districts, along with their principal and CAP Advisor, met at the School Board Meeting to sign their academic scholarship. Angela Ortiz, a senior from School for Advanced Studies, Homestead, was also there and represented all the students who have overcome obstacles to graduate. Angela, despite a cancer diagnosis in 2013, has been determined to succeed even though the doctors advised her to drop out of school. Angela, who has been in remission since January 2014, will be attending Harvard University in the fall with a full financial aid package.
