Dixon Transition Society will be hosting a free half-day event in recognition of
National Victims of Crime Awareness Week.
Increasing Awareness about Domestic Violence and the
Laws that Impact Women
Monday April 20th 12 pm – 4:30 pm
Scandinavian Community Centre, 6540 Thomas Street, Burnaby
Registration and Lunch 12:00-1:00pm, presentations 1:00-4:30pm
Learn about laws impacting women escaping domestic violence, hear from
experts in the field, and hear a story of healing and triumph directly from a
survivor of violence
Presenters are lawyers and legal advocates from the West Coast LEAF,
YWCA Metro Vancouver, Legal Services Society, and Haydee Windey who will
share her personal story.
Space is limited and RSVP is required by April 15th as lunch will be provided.
