Jan. 4 – Crime and Violence in our Community: Are We Getting Safer? Dr. John Klofus, Professor of Criminal Justice and Director of The Center for Public Safety Initiatives at RIT, and author of The New Criminal Justice: American Communities and the Changing World of Crime Control. •
Jan. 11 – Kids and Guns With the help of ABC’s 20/20 documentary, we will explore our children’s fascination with guns. •
Jan. 18 – The Community Safety and Human Rights Agenda Rev. Lewis Stewart, Director of United Christian Leadership Ministries will speak about his coalition’s work to address violence and injustice in our community. •
Jan. 25 – Building Safer Communities: The Pathology of Gun Violence Kathy Richardson, Greater Rochester Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence / Million Mom March Chapter, will talk about what we all can do to bring about transformative change on violence in our communities and across the nation. •
Feb. 1 – New Threats in the Middle East: ISIS Who? Wesley Renfro, Professor of Political Science at St. John Fisher College, will help us better understand the players involved in the current struggles in the Middle East. •
Feb. 8 – Peace in the 21st Century Professor Renfro returns to talk about the relative peace in our time. •
