Recent Australian research demonstrates that over 1 in 5
Australian’s believe that family violence can be excused if the
violent person later regrets it (www.vichealth.gov.au/ncas).
Attitudes such as this lead to opportunities for challenging our
own values and beliefs. This conference aims to improve your
understanding of the causes of family violence, bust the myths
and link the relationship between family violence prevention
and responses.
Under the witty guidance of Clementine Ford, journalist for The
Age and active feminist, you will experience a range of views
and examples of how family violence is in fact preventable.
