Dr. Rueda is a vascular surgeon at
The Heart Center at Presbyterian.
Carlos Rueda, MD, treats diseases of the
arteries and veins through medical therapy,
minimally invasive procedures, and surgical
reconstruction. During his free time, he plays
classical, flamenco, and jazz guitar and enjoys
bike riding and hiking. Dr. Rueda is fluent
in Spanish.

Education and Training
Dr. Rueda earned his medical degree at the
University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.
He completed an internship and residency in
general surgery and conducted two years of
vascular surgery clinical research at the University
of Colorado Health Sciences Center, followed
by a fellowship in vascular surgery at the Scott
& White Memorial Hospital in Temple, Texas.
Before moving to New Mexico, he worked as
a vascular surgeon in Denver, Colorado. Board
certified in general and vascular surgery, he is a
member of the American College of Surgeons,
the Peripheral Vascular Surgery Society, and the
Society for Vascular Surgery.
