DISCUSSION:
To improve competitive integrated employment outcomes for people with intellectual and
developmental disabilities, ODP and the SELN have collaborated on employment trainings for SCs and SC
Supervisors.
The SELN supports agencies in improving integrated employment outcomes for people with intellectual
and developmental disabilities. The SELN believes one key aspect of that goal is through supports
coordinator competency development.
The first webinar will be presented on June 5, 2015, from 10 am to 11 am. This one-hour credit training
will help SCs to explore key performance elements and how to clarify the role and expectations in the
individual planning process regarding employment. This ODP-required event is being offered “live” and
via recording to SCs and SC Supervisors. Bureau of Autism Services SCs and SC Supervisors are invited
to participate in either the live or recorded presentation. Due to limited lines and to maximize
opportunities for discussion for the SCs, we invite self-advocates, families, AEs, and providers to
participate on the recorded version of the training and will be sending out an announcement after the
live version.

forward, and actions that support employment are
often in addition to many other facets of their current Length: 60 minutes
duties. These roles have evolved and expanded
over the last ten years. There is often a struggle between meeting daily compliance
requirements and having time to keep the focus on improving outcomes in areas
such as employment, job searches or a career path. Large caseloads and competing
challenges result in limited available time to address responsibilities such as supporting a
person to explore job and career options.
The State Employment Leadership Network (SELN) supports state intellectual and
developmental disability agencies in improving integrated employment outcomes. The
SELN believes one key aspect of that goal is through support coordinator competency
development.
Join us to explore key performance elements for supports coordination and how to
clarify the role and expectations for supports coordinators in the individual planning
process and team dynamics. This ODP-required event is being offered “live” and via
recording to SCO’s. The recording and materials will be posted immediately following
the event and will be available online until December 31, 2015.
