Classes are Wednesday from 1-3 pm. Quilting Class- Learn how to quilt with Ms. Thelma Johnson every Wednesday from 8:30 -11:30 am. Supply list will be available at the front desk for anyone interested in quilting; there is a $5.00 fee each week for quilting patterns and fabric. Birthday Card Crafting- Please Join us on May 4th at 10 am to make Birthday Cards for our Home Bound Clients. Felt Flower Crafting Pins- We will be making felt pins for our seniors to enjoy! We will be making our pins on May the 19th at 10am. There will be a deadline to participate in this activity. The last day to sign up for this activity is May the 12th sign-up sheet is at front desk. There will also be a fee for this activity it will be $1.00 please bring at date of sign up! Please join us for this fun activity. Games and Activities Bingo- Join us as we play for prizes, May 6th, 13th, 27th at 11 a.m. Sponsored Bingo- Patriot Hospice will sponsor Bingo on May 18th at 11 am. Modified Baseball- This Game is a fun indoor modified version of baseball. Join us for a friendly competition of playing on May 1st, 11th at 10am and May 29th at 11am. Tally Hoop- A game where you throw discs into a hoop to see who gets the most in the net. Join us on May 7th, 12th, 21st, and 26th at 11am. Bean Bag Toss- A game where players take turns tossing three bean bags toward the far platform. For instance, a player from one team tosses his or her bags, and then his opponent tosses their bags to see who can score the most points. Please join us on May 8th, 14th, and the 19th at 11am. Wii Games- Join us in playing some active and fun games on the Wii such as bowling and tennis. May 18th, and 29th at 10am • Movie Day- We will be watching the movie Steel Magnolia’s this contemporary re-imagining of the beloved classic film, Steel Magnolias chronicles the extraordinary friendship of six remarkable Southern Women, there for each other through life's triumphs and tragedies. Funny, wise and richly human, this immensely moving film features a brilliant all-star cast, including Queen Latifah, Phylicia Rashad, Adepero Oduyem, Condola Rashad, Jill Scott and Alfre Woodard it will be on May 15th the movie will start at 10am I Love America JINGO- JINGO reinforce word and picture recognition and encourage good listening skills. We will be play on May 11th at 11 am. Walking Club- Walking club will start on May the 11th at 10:30 am. We will be walking around the butterfly pond at the new county court house. This will be a walk at your own pace recorded miles walking club. Please come and join us while we are trying to stay healthy! Guys Pool Tournament- We will be having a guy’s only pool tournament on May 15th and May 29th at 10:00 The Pool game Will Be Eight Ball rules come and join the fun guys!! Groups/Seminars / Special Opportunities Morning Coffee Social & Word Puzzels- We have a coffee social with word puzzles every day of the week from 9 am to 10am. It is a time to catch up with frinds, drink coffee, eat some breakfast and enjoy some fellowship with people you are close with. Please come and enjoy some time with us!! St. George Prayer Network- Meets each Thursday of the month from 3:30-4:30 pm. Praise and Worship- Come and enjoy inspirational praise and songs with Mrs Brenda Mack and Samella Odom May 4th at 11am. Bible Study- Bible class meets each Thursday from 10am-12 pm. Remember to bring your Bible. No bible study on May 28th . Career School Nail Techs- The Nail Techs will be joining us on May the 6th at 10am. Deadline to sign up to participate is May1st. Please bring your library card if you have one. Touch Treasure Hunt- We will be having a fun game of Touch Treasure on May the 12th at 10am. It is a game where we have hidden objects in a brown bag and you have to guess what is in the bag by feel only! Lots of Fun! Trivia Games and Brain Challengers- Join us and play a variety of trivia games and Brain stimulation games. May 1st will be Hidden Picture game at 11 a.m. May7th is Mother’s Day trivia at 10 a.m. May 8th will be Mother’s Day crosswords and games at 10 a.m. May 21th will be May Day Trivia Games at 10am May 22nd will be Memorial Day Crosswords 10a.m. Health and Physical Education Blood Pressure and Glucose Screening- A registered nurse from Hospice Care of SC will be here on May 14th at 10am to do blood pressure and glucose screening. Sit and Fit- Join us for a DVD class doing exercises from a seated position. May 5th , and 13th at 10am and May 22nd at 11am Nutritional Program- Join us on May 26th at 10:00 a.m. Ms. Gayle Williford From Clemson Extension will lead a Class covering Cooking Healthy Eating Smart….with More Protein. How to properly Control Diabetes- Join us on May 5th at 11am. Ms Patricia Nicholson with Beacon Hospice will be making a presentaion on the proper way to maintain and control your diabetes. Also she will be showing you some ways to try and prevent getting diabetes. We welcome volunteers. There are many areas where volunteers would be able to assist with programs and services such as packaging or delivering meals to the homebound members, assisting with activities at the center, teaching classes and conduct individual workshops to share your talents and expertise.
