Saturday
th
11 April 2015
07:30 – 9:00
FRIENDS PRESENT:
Martin & Margie Rutsch, Penny Dekenah, Thea Jansen van Vuuren, Charles Costello, & Marie de la Rey (6)
BAGS: -7 bags at Glover, & 2+ at Sonja.
AREA CLEANED:We cleaned in the water course between Glover and the bird hide, and all the dustbins between Outeniqua and
Sonja. Also under all the bridges. The rubbish wasn’t that bad. I think Mike’s guys have done a lot of cleaning along
the edges! Thanks to Mike’s team.
The grass has been cut with the tractor and brush cutters. The SPRUIT looks beautiful.
Some fun was had when Marcus flew his drone up and down the spruit and filmed us. Martin was tempted to throw
a bag or 2 in the direction of the zzzzzzmmmm and Thea did a little dance…hehe! The others just worked….

Glover Bridge looking west towards Outeniqua
The Spruit is looking so BEAUTIFUL! We have this treasure right on our doorstep!
BEFORE - Where? –I don’t know – you tell me!
AFTER – There!!!
Somehow the fence at Outeniqua was damaged. We don’t know whether accidentally
or maliciously, but Mike and his team managed to fix it quickly.
Thanks so much Mike!
Thank you also to the regular cleaners who put their own agendas on hold to help us
clean the spruit – it was wet and one or two of us had to rest involuntarily in a puddle or some other obstacle and
had to bear the consequences!
Regards,
Marie de la Rey
