Proloquo2Go 3 Tutorial - Using Macros

Using Macros
Proloquo2Go (iPad, iPhone and iPod touch). In this tutorial you will learn how to create new Buttons, Actions and
Folders with Macros, which speak the current date, time, or device battery level.
Adding Macros
Start Proloquo2Go by tapping its
icon. If you are not on the Home
screen, tap the Home button (the
house).
Navigate to a folder (in
this example we navigated to the
“Time” folder in the Core Word
vocabulary).
Macros
are placeholders for
information that may change with
time, such as the current date or
the battery charge level in various formats. If the
button is activated, the placeholder is replaced with the
actual value, which is then spoken.
To select one, tap its name.
You can also use the search field
to search for a Macro.
In the “Time words” folder, tap the
Edit button (the pencil) in the
toolbar.
In this case we will add a button
with a Macro (Time) to the “Time
words” folder and add a symbol of
a clock.
The Edit window now appears.
Macros can be applied to any
button you want to create.
Tap the Add Button button,
the
Add Action button
or the Add
Folder button.
You will see that the Text to Speak
contains a special code that the
voice will interpret to speak the
right Macro (in this case Time).
This is how the “Time words” folder
should show the Macro with the
current time.
When tapped, the
button will insert the current time
into the Message Window.
Tap the Speech Code button
(speech bubble)
to create a
button that uses Macros.
