CLINICAL ENDOCRINOLOGY LABORATORY Sample Instructions & Pricing Instruction for samples: PLEASE SEND SERUM ONLY, no whole blood or red cells. Also, do not use Becton-Dickinson serum separator tubes; they will degrade the analyte, particularly progesterone, and invalidate results if sample is stored in these tubes. Overnight is OK if unable to transfer immediately. Volume Required: Testosterone: 2 mL serum each AMH, Estrone Sulfate, Progesterone or Inhibin: 1 mL serum each Cryptorchid Panel: 2mL serum Pregnancy Panel: 1 mL serum Granulosa Cell Tumor Panel: 3 mL serum. Shipping Instructions: Overnight on an icepack is highly recommended for inhibin assay or for any panel which includes inhibin. Overnight or second day air in winter without ice is OK to save on shipping costs. Progesterone, estrone sulfate, testosterone, and estradiol are all very stable and can be shipped regular mail (if not in a hurry for results). FedEx or UPS will deliver directly to the lab (building and room), while regular mail (US Postal Service) will go through the University Mail Division and may take up to one week until received in the lab, which may delay the results. Please complete the submission form and include with your shipment. SHIP TO: ENDOCRINOLOGY LABORATORY DEPT. of POPULATION HEALTH & REPRODUCTION 4206 VM3A 1 SHIELDS AVENUE DAVIS, CA 95616-5270 Frequency of Testing: All tests are run on a weekly basis, except AMH, which will be run every other week for the time being. Samples must be received in the lab by Wednesday of each week in order to receive the results that same week. Results are reported on Thursday (progesterone and estrone sulfate only) and Friday (all others) if the sample was received by Wednesday. Cost per assay includes interpretation and phone/fax charge. Credit card payment is required before the assays can be run. (Exceptions if approved include billing or credit card number held on file.) Consultation with a veterinarian as required or requested. ***Please note that as of November 2012, we will no longer be offering individual estradiol testing as it has become cost prohibitive to run small sample sizes. If you have a large research project (>50 samples) and would like to request ad hoc pricing for the estradiol assay, please contact [email protected] for information.
