April 2015 PTO Meeting Minutes Thursday, April 16, 2015 6:30 pm -YMCA Guest Speaker – Dennis (heads up Greenmont YMCA program) Camp Massapoag – Dunstable, MA For students entering K-10 Bus that stops at Dracut Hannaford or drop off at camp Parent drop-off 8:45-9:00am/Parent pick-up 4:00-4:15 Extended care is available for an additional fee Kids are broken up into groups by grade entering fall 2015 In additional to regular camp, they offer specialty weeks (drama, board games, etc.) Counselor-in-training program for students entering grades 9-10 Camp offers many activities including Archery, boating, swimming, arts & crafts, rock wall, ropes course, games Contact Dennis if any questions Forms are available in the office -Updates from Mr. Botelho Spirit Week 5th graders choose the days (sports, etc.). Couple it with a donation to a charity Need a coordinator to pick charities, set up collection containers, and deliver to charity RMS PTO Invited 5th grade parents to their PTO meeting on May 12th Safe Routes to School Participated in bike training already Pedestrian training in May 4th and 5th graders will train 2nd/3rd graders After that, we will just need to train 2nd grade every year Survey will be sent after vacation Very short If we get 60% or higher survey participation, they will send us money Money would be used towards an item to promote walking/biking to school (i.e., bike rack) Grandparent Luncheon Thank you to all the volunteers 25th anniversary-special guests to attend 5th grade Update Reserved field, kona ice, and having a cookout Yearbook is moving along Will need non 5th grade parents Wed June 24th so teachers can participate in moving on ceremony President’s Update Thank you to all volunteers Open board positions for the upcoming year-please consider Treasurer Ongoing Fundraisers Box tops, target Treasury Update Scholastic Book Fair Cash/checks deposited.
