Step 1
Stair Riser
Install the riser flush to the stair. Clean flooring and
moulding with a damp cloth (water only) to remove all dust
and residue. Let dry before applying adhesive.

Adhesive Tape
Turn Stairnose over and roughen the inside surface of the
Stairnose to increase bond by means of 60 grit sandpaper,
sanding sponge, or a metal brush. Then, gently peel the
release paper all the way off the adhesive tape.
The purpose of the double-sided tape is to secure the
moulding firmly in place until the premium
polyurethane construction adhesive totally cures.
Step 3
Next, apply a generous bead of a Premium Polyurethane
Construction Adhesive along the entire inside corner.
Be sure to overlap the tape with the adhesive

Touch the bottom of moulding to the stair riser and
carefully roll the Stairnose in place. Make any final
adjustments before you push the moulding all the way
down. Once it’s in the final position, press down firmly with
your hands and make your way down the entire Stairnose.
It may take 2 or 3 passes to set it firmly in place.

For Low Traffic, let the adhesive cure for at least 1 hour
before walking on it. For Heavy Traffic, wait 24 to 48 hours.

Roughen up surface that
comes in contact with glue
NOTE: Transition Dowels are sold separately.
Please contact your Sales Representative to order.
Step 1
Turn the transition over and use a sanding sponge, metal
brush or 60 grit sandpaper to roughen up the surface to
increase the bond on the side where glue will be applied.
Step 2
Each dowel tree (sold separately), contains 8 dowels.
Carefully cut or break dowels off of tree. Slide one dowel
into moulding groove and position in center of moulding.
Insert additional dowels from both ends. Space dowels
11.5” apart and 1.5” from ends.
