A number of busy weekends coming up. Club Champs
are being held at WaterMarc this weekend and this
provides an opportunity for all our swimmers to get
together for some fun and competitive racing.
The following weekend sees the Club’s annual
Swimathon. Come along and see how many laps you can
do while raising money for the Club and Berry Street
Victoria.
And finally, the weekend after that, the DVE SC Meet at
WaterMarc. This is the first competition of the Short
Course season. If you haven’t already entered, make
sure you do so by Monday 11th May.

WaterMarc
This is a major fund raising event and proceeds are shared
with Berry Street Victoria, supporting much needed
community programs.
All squad swimmers are encouraged to participate and
support this cause which raises money for Berry Street and
our Club by gathering sponsors and swimming as many laps
as possible. Parents and other family members are
welcome to participate in swimming laps and/or
volunteering time to assist with other necessary jobs
throughout the 24 hour period.

Training will continue through these two days but with
some modifications. All squads will be rostered to swim at
WaterMarc and the total laps swum during that session will
count toward your fundraising. Coaches will be present on
pool deck during the scheduled squad times and will
oversee training as usual. At the completion of training
sessions, swimmers can continue swimming towards their
goal.

PRESENTATION NIGHT
Saturday 20th June, 2015
Presentation Night is a celebration of all the hard work and
effort put in by our members.
Club trophies and awards will be presented on this evening.

HELP REQUIRED FOR UPCOMING
DVE EVENTS
To ensure the smooth running of a number of important
Club events coming up we need your assistance.
Help is required at the following events:
DVE Aquatic Swimathon - 8-9th May 2015
From 6pm Friday 8th May to 8pm Saturday 9th May for:
 lap counting
 set up and packing up of tables chairs, club banners
 registration and administration tasks
 catering support (especially breakfast and
lunchtime on Saturday)
DVE Short Course Qualifying Meet - Sunday 17th May




Timekeepers
Make light snacks for timekeepers and officials
(sandwiches, fruit platters, muffins, slices)
Offer refreshments to timekeepers and officials for
both the morning and afternoon sessions
Set up and clean up room for officials during the
lunch break
Club Presentation Night - Saturday 20th June
To ensure we have a fun and successful 2015 Presentation
Night we need a small group of people to help plan and
organise this event. This will include:



All sessions held at Eltham Leisure Centre (entry via
back door in Withers Way)
Sessions 1,4,5,6
Sessions 2,3,7

Decorating and setting up venue
Sourcing of 4-5 prizes to auction/raffle throughout
the night
Lolly jar guessing competition for the kids
