Altar Server Appreciation – CDA Court No. 1108 and KC Council No. 2500 will
recognize Altar servers at all masses the weekend of May 9-10.
EXPERTISE NEEDED ---- The church parking lot is in need of repair. I have talked
with two companies who do paving and was told by one that with so many trees surrounding the
area it was best to leave it alone and just fill the low places with some loose material. The other
wouldn’t even consider bidding on the project for fear new paving could cause the trees to die
and was not interested in a law suit.
What’s one to do? If someone has experience in this area, I would appreciate your advice.
Trees are beautiful – but “Oh” what headaches they cause!

AID TO NEPAL EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS – A special collection will be
taken up next weekend to assist Catholic Relief Services in aiding the victims of
the massive earthquake in Nepal.
Court of St. Bernadette No. 1108 Catholic Daughters of the Americas gave a
$200 donation to ACT NOW. Thank you!

Mr. Joel Torres, the Maintenance Supervisor for Holy Cross has accepted another position that
will afford him a better chance for advancement. Friday, May 8th will be his last day with the
parish. He was a dedicated employee and will certainly be missed. Our prayers and best wishes
go with Joel as he moves on to a new venture in life.

Holy Cross Catholic Church is accepting applications for a general maintenance
position. The position includes regular cleaning of buildings, room set-up for
classes and functions, minor repairs, assisting office staff and church volunteers
when help is needed, etc. Applications available at the church office.
