MONDAY, MAY 4
8TH GRADE PARENT SURVIVAL NIGHT
Parents of future Saints are invited to attend an
informational question and answer session on Monday, May
4th. Current students and parents will be available to help
prepare you for the upcoming school year. The evening will
begin at 7 pm in the Norris Cultural Arts Center. Hope to
see you there!
TUESDAY, MAY 5
X-RAY
X-Ray is choosing new editors for the 2015-2016 school
year. If you are interested in having a leadership role on
East's award-winning newspaper next year, pick up an
application from Mrs. Smith in Room B215 and sign up for
an interview. We are looking for people interested in
writing, photography, and publication design. Interviews
will take place Tuesday, May 5th. Contact Mrs. Smith for
more information.
SCIENCE HONOR SOCIETY
This is the last week to apply for the Science Honor
Society. Completed forms are due on Wednesday. Check
with your science teacher or in the Science Office for
applications. Science tutoring is available Tuesday in D154
as usual.
VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT
Do you like playing volleyball, and do you need a place to
play it? Gather 7-8 of your friends to create a volleyball
team and compete against other teams from school on May
12th from 5:30-8:30 pm in the main gym. A bracket will be
made, so submit your team early to Alex Mazanke, Alexa
Popiel, Collin Sheehan, or Gary King. There will be a
mandatory informational meeting in LRC Section F after
school today. All proceeds generated from the tournament
will be donated to the Alzheimer's Association.

WEDNESDAY IS AN STCE LATE START DAY
DECA MEETING
DECA members and students interested in joining DECAplease join us for the next meeting on Wednesday, May
6th, at 2:30 pm in B200D (LRC). We will be discussing
how to prepare a written event for competition, officer
elections and end of year banquet information. Our final
meeting for the year will be Wednesday, May 27th. See

NOW AVAILABLE
Attention current Juniors, Sophomores and Freshmen! Are
you interested in applying to Student Council next year?
If so, please pick up an application packet in the Student
Activities Office. Applications and recommendation
letters are due Monday, May 11th. If you have any

MORNING ANNOUNCEMENT TRYOUTS
Are you a current sophomore or junior? Would you like to
be part of the Morning Announcement Team for next
year? Please sign up for a 10 minute audition/tryout
on Tuesday, May 19. A script will be provided and you will
be video-taped in the Studio. See Mrs. Dandre for more
details. The application and sign-up sheet is now available
in the Student Activities Office.
SUMMER SCHOOL REGISTRATION
Registration for traditional Summer School courses runs
through June 4th for Session 1. Register online at

BRIDGE WALK
Please consider joining us for the 10th annual Bridge Walk
on Saturday, May 16 at Fabyan Forest Preserve
to benefit the LivingWell Cancer Resource
Center. Donation and sign-up links can be found
at east.d303.org. There are also donation
envelopes and t-shirt order forms in the Student
Activities Office. Be a part of this Saints tradition!
CAR SHOW TO BENEFIT LAZARUS HOUSE
STCE Auto Club is hosting the 11th Annual Car, Truck and
Motorcycle Show in the school parking lot on May 16,
from 1 - 4 pm. All proceeds will be donated to Lazarus
House shelter. Please come out and support the cause and
the students running the show. There will be food, games,
and fun for all!

CONGRATULATIONS X-RAY WRITERS!
Congratulations to all of the X-Ray writers who won
awards from the Northern Illinois School Press
Association last week. Jimmy Dale won a blue ribbon in
Sports Writing, Mary Halm won a blue ribbon in Editorial
Writing, and Rachel Barbera and Sara Fessler won a blue
ribbon in News Writing. Mary Halm and Danial Toor also
won an Honorable Mention in Team In-Depth Reporting.
CAR WASH
Head out to the Leadership Studies Car Wash
Fundraiser on Saturday, May 16th from 2:00-5:00
p.m. hosted by Jersey Mikes on Rt 64. All proceeds will
