Educare of California at Silicon Valley Announces Leader
The Board of Directors of Educare of California at Silicon Valley (ECSV) has selected a highly
regarded early learning leader, Lisa Kaufman, Ph.D., to be the Executive Director of California’s
first Educare School.
Educare serves at-risk children from birth to 5 years of age through a coast-to-coast network of
state-of-the-art, full-day, year-round schools, funded mostly by existing public dollars. Each
Educare School embraces a community's most vulnerable children with programming and
instructional support that develop early skills and nurture the strong parent-child relationships
that create the foundation for successful learning.
Dr. Kaufman brings a wealth of experience to this position. She will provide expert guidance to
the Board of Directors and lead all of the partners in the implementation of the programs. Her
role will include oversight of research, professional development and policy development.
Jolene Smith, Chair of the ECSV Board said, “We are so pleased to have Dr. Kaufman as the
leader of Educare. She is poised to bring the board’s vision of early learning in Silicon Valley and
the state to fruition.”
Dr. Kaufman will assume the post on June 8, 2015. ECSV is set to open in August 2015. For more
