Campus Clean-up
Our PTA is sponsoring our Spring Campus Clean-up on Saturday, March 28th, from
9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. We encourage all students and Rincon families to join us to make
improvements to our campus. Everyone who participates will qualify for Community Service
hours. We hope to see you there!
School Quality Surveys
Parents, there is still time to submit your School Quality Survey! Students were given
the Surveys last week. Please take the time to complete it and have your child bring it to the
office next week. Thank you for providing us with your input and opinions!
Sequential Schedule Monday and Tuesday
We will follow a Sequential Schedule on Monday and Tuesday, March 30th and 31st.
Students will attend all 6 class periods and first period will begin at 8:00 a.m.
School Council Meeting
The Rincon School Council will host our monthly meeting on Monday, March 30th, at
4:00 p.m. in the East Side of the Library. Our School Council meetings are open to the public
and the agenda is posted in the front window of the school office.
Prom Ticket Bingo!
Attention Juniors and Seniors! Want to go to Prom but having a cash flow problem?
Can you spring for the tux but dinner has to be Mickey D’s? Do you have dinner and flowers
down but it looks like you are pedaling your way to the dance? Well, help us help you have the
Prom of your dreams…or at least dinner at Chipotle instead of Taco Bell! Play Prom Ticket
BINGO! The winner earns a free pair of Prom tickets! Think of what you can do with that extra
cash! The game starts on Wednesday, April 1st (no fooling!) The rules and hints are
attached to this email. Have fun and good luck!
Freshman Orientation this Wednesday
We will welcome next year’s Freshman Class of 2019 on Wednesday, April 1st at 6:00
p.m. in the Auditorium. If you have a younger sibling in 8 th grade, please make plans to attend
this important presentation. Parents will be given Registration Packets and information on our
Summer Freshman Academy. Please spread the word among your neighbors and friends who
have children in 8th grade!
No School on Friday, April 3rd
Our Tucson Unified School District will not have classes on Friday, April 3rd, for Good
Friday. The school and office will be closed that day. Classes will resume on a regular basis
on Monday, April 6th. We hope you all enjoy a wonder Easter Break.
Weekly College Bulletin
All Juniors and Seniors should read the College Bulletin every week. We are now
starting to receive scholarship opportunities specifically for Juniors! Ms. Bacal also inserts
information about summer opportunities, work programs, presentations, scholarships, guest
speakers, contests, and community service opportunities for ALL students in grades 9-12.
Don’t miss out on financial opportunities that are included in the Weekly College Bulletin!
RUHS Winter Guard, Drumline and Jazz Band
The RUHS Jazz Band participated in the NAU Jazz Festival and earned Superior with
Distinction, the highest ranking possible. Our Winter Guard Black group moved up a few
divisions into the Scholastic AA Local and has won first place multiple times. Winter Guard
Purple has also done very well and competed in the Winter Guard International Western
Regional competition and placed 9th in the finals. Winter Drumline has also done very well
and placed 4th in prelims and finals in their own WGI Regional competition.
Congratulations to all of these outstanding students and their instructors!
RUHS Ranger Softball Alumni Day
Our RUHS Softball team is sponsoring an Alumni Day on Saturday, April 11th, at 10:30
a.m. at the Ranger Softball Field. All alumni from UHS and Rincon are invited to attend and if
they so desire to play a little ball against current players, Varsity and JV. A registration form is
attached if you wish to play or donate to the program. We will have activities for kids of all
ages, a silent auction, and good food!
Spanish Proficiency Exam
Our district is offering a Spanish Proficiency Exam for High School Credits. Students
who wish to take the test should get a permission slip from their Counselor and complete a
registration form online. The Test is on Saturday, April 11th, from 12:30 – 3:30 p.m., at
Pueblo High School. Please see your Counselor for more information.
TUSD Sports Physical Fair
TUSD will once again sponsor Sports Physicals for only $10! Our Sports Physical
Fundraiser Event will be on Saturday, May 9th, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Catalina
High School Gymnasium. The $10 Fee will go back into our Rincon Athletic Department!
Please consider this inexpensive option for your child’s Sports Physical for next year.
Home Athletic Events
Our JV Baseball and Softball teams will host games with Pueblo on Tuesday, March
31st, at 4:00 p.m., and will play Mountain View on Thursday, April 2nd, at 4:30 p.m. Girls
Tennis will host Tucson High on Tuesday, March 31st at 4:00 p.m. Boys Volleyball will host
Santa Rita on Tuesday, March 31st, with games at 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. The Varsity Boys
Volleyball team will play Sunnyside on Thursday, April 2nd at 6:00 p.m. Boys Tennis will play
matches with Sahuaro on Thursday, April 2nd at 4:00 p.m.
We will not have school on Friday, April 3rd, but our Varsity Softball team will play
Sahuaro at 4:30 p.m. and our Varsity Baseball team will play Nogales at 4:30 p.m. We hope
you will stop by campus and attend one of these games this week! GO RANGERS!
