Nearby residents can expect construction-related noise, including the use of heavy equipment and material hauling. Every effort will be made to complete nosier activities earlier in the evening to minimize disruptions. Crews will minimize the use of back-up beepers, however they are required for safety. When crews are working at night, construction lighting will be used and efforts will be made to angle the lighting away from nearby residents. Drivers will experience delays while this work is underway. Drivers should follow the directions of traffic control personnel and posted signs for detour routes. Commuters should consider alternate routes. Business Access Disruption to business access will be minimized as much as possible. Business access signs will be installed so entrance points or temporary alternate access points are clearly marked. Traffic control personnel will assist drivers wishing to access businesses in this area while this work is underway. When paving is underway, access to some businesses will be temporarily unavailable for the duration of the work. Crews will be laying new asphalt and then will require additional time to allow it to cure. Vehicles will not be permitted to drive on the new asphalt while this is underway. Pedestrians, Cyclists and Transit Users For the safety of all pedestrians and cyclists, please follow the directions of traffic control personnel and posted detour signs while construction is underway. To ensure the safety of transit users, bus stops on Clarke Road will be temporarily shifted away from active construction. Please watch for transit signs that will indicate the temporary location of bus stops starting in May or visit TransLink’s website for more information.
