ADVISORY: List of City Construction Projects for 10/13-10/26/14
Please note that these are the major projects within and under control of the City of Minot. Projects being completed
by NDDOT, Ward County and private contractors may not be on this list. All Dates are estimates and some projects
are scheduled to go beyond the date of this report. In addition, there will always be several small pockets of
construction and maintenance throughout the city, so residents are urged to give themselves extra travel time during
the entire construction season. Paving contractors as well as city crews are working throughout all areas of town
patching potholes and areas of broken pavement. Use caution when approaching these and any other construction
projects. City sweeping crews are still in the process of street sweeping throughout the city. Use caution when
approaching or passing the street sweeping equipment.
Woodside Development
Pavement reconstruction will occur the next 2 weeks on 11th Street SE (between 31st Avenue SE and 33rd Avenue SE),
12th Street SE (between 31st Avenue SE and 34th Avenue SE), 15th Street SE (between 31st Avenue SE and 34th Avenue SE
and south of 34th Street SE), and 31st Ave Street SE (at the Willow Lane intersection). Valley gutter construction will
occur at the intersection of 34th Ave SE and 15th St SE and at the intersection of 31st Ave SE and Woodside Drive. These
locations will be closed to through traffic and will last approximately 2 weeks. The contractor will accommodate the
impacted residents to the best of their ability.
Traffic Signal Upgrade Project
Over the next few weeks, several intersections will be involved in a signal upgrade project. Be aware of lane closures
and workers in the area. Work that requires signals to be dark will be taking place in the evening hours, so motorists are
advised to use extreme caution. Stop signs will most likely be in place, but motorists are reminded that at dark
intersections, state law requires all vehicles to come to a complete stop before proceeding through the intersection. .
Information will be provided to media as work proceeds at specific intersections.
21st Avenue NW
Work continues on the 21st Avenue NW project. Work has moved to the area west of 16th St., and the area east is
currently undergoing paving. Please allow for extra time through the area, and be cautious of workers in the area, as
well as temporary detours. This project is for utility improvements as well as traffic control signal going in to the 21st
Avenue / 16th Street Intersection.
6th Street SW
6th Street SW has been opened temporarily. Several “punch-list” details are being completed, so please be mindful of
construction crews in the area. Residents should also note that there will be concrete panels being replaced between
Central Avenue and 2nd Avenue either this fall or in the spring. The roadway will be closed for a short period of time
when that construction takes place. Western Avenue will remain closed from 6th Street until the lift station is completed
in 2015.
