Regulation
Article1. Contest Organizer
The organizer of the “Be the ECO Hero of the Castle” Challenge (hereinafter
referred to as the "contest") is Societatea Boiler Events SRL, registered in the
Associations and Foundations Register under no. J31/497/2011, Registration
Code RO 29394582, legally represented by Mr. Iulian Obogeanu, hereinafter
referred to as the Organizer.
The contest will be conducted in compliance with the provisions contained in this
Regulation (hereinafter referred to as the "Regulation"). The terms and conditions
of this Regulation, as presented below, are mandatory for all participants in the
contest.
The Organizer reserves the right to modify the Rules, bringing this to the attention
of the public.
The Contest Organizers will not be held responsible for any harm or injury
brought upon during any of the activities undertaken within the participation in
the contest or through the use of any of the prizes provided in this contest.
Participation in the contest is done at the participants’ sole responsibility and all
prizes are used at the discretion of the winners.Winners acknowledge that the
only warranty applicable to the prizes is that of the manufacturer.
Article. 2. Scope and Duration of the contest
The scope of the contest is to find 2 to 6 bicycle riders who will become Electric
Castle Festival’s eco ambassadors and will travel from UK to Romania by bicycle.
The competition’s communication campaign will be organized and will run from
April 28th to May 15th, 2015 in the United Kingdom. The actual challenge for the
riders will take place from May 20th, 2015, in the United Kingdom (starting
point) to June 24th, 2015, the latest expected day of arrival at the ending point:
Electric Castle Festival, which takes place in Bontida, Cluj County, Romania.
ART 3. Right of Participation
Any person aged 18+, resident or working in UK, with a good state of health, who
has a bicycle, equipment and experience to complete a 1400 miles journey by
bike can join the Contest. The organizers and others involved in the organization
and the running of the contest are not eligible to participate. By entering the
contest, the participants fully accept by free consent the provisions of this
Regulation.
The right to participate belongs exclusively to the person who meets the
conditions of this Regulation.
Article 4. Competition Mechanism
Registrations (April 28st - May 15th, 2015):
● the persons who are interested to enter the contest have to write an email to [email protected] to express their intention and to prove that
they have the necessary equipment and experience to complete the
challenge. Contact details are required (name, address, telephone
number, e-mail, social media public profile);
● they will receive a response in maximum of 3 working days from the date
of the email receipt and will be asked to send a picture with themselves
on the bicycle and a no-more-than-300-words motivation of why do they
want to be the eco-ambassadors of the Electric Castle Festival 2015;
● the pictures will be posted to Electric Castle Festival And MAINOI
Association social media channels;
● On May 15th, 2015, the organizers will make a public announcement with
the finalists on the festival’s social media page;
● The finalists will be contacted and asked to sign a contract of
collaboration for the challenge within 15 days from the date of the public
announcement.
Challenge (May 20th - June 24th, 2015)
● prior to their departure, the riders must send the following details about
their journey, via e-mail:
/ The route of the race to be followed according to the risk assessment which the
participant ought to make prior to submitting this to the organisers;
/ Planning of the route by days, with approximate time of start and expected
time of arrival (the arrival date must be June 24th, at the latest);
/ contact details during the journey.
● during their travel:
/ Riders must send daily footage (4 photos) and 1 short video per week to prove
they reached, by bicycle, the intermediate points of the journey to the organizers.
/ Riders must use one of the popular mobile apps for bicycle travel (strava,
bikemap, etc.) to send the daily registered reports to the organizers;
/ Riders must comply with traffic law and regulations, the Highway Code, the
risk assessment and obey directions from Police, officials, and marshals in the
countries they will be passing through. Failure to comply renders a rider liable to
disqualification;
/ Riders who participate in the campaign must ride in a manner that is safe for
themselves and all others;
/ Riders participate at their own risk and must rely on their own ability in
dealing with all hazards;
/ Riders must have, and present to the organizers prior to departure, a health
insurance valid in all of the countries to be visited, throughout the duration of
the journey.
● at the arrival:
/ Riders will be invited to participate at the press conference which will open the
2015 edition of Electric Castle Festival.
The organizers have the right to disqualify the riders who do not respect the
provisions of the Regulation.
Article 5. Awards
The selected riders who will finish the challenge, respecting this regulation, and
will arrive by bicycle at Electric Castle Festival no later than June 24th, 23.00 hrs
will receive a VIP full-pass at Electric Castle Festival with free entrance,
accommodation (camping), food vouchers, safe bicycle parking and some surprise
prizes.
Article 6. Granting the Awards
The winners will be notified by phone and e-mail, as per the contact data provided
by the participant when registering in the contest. The prizes will be awarded by
the organizers on the first day of the Festival on the basis of their identity card and
the proofs that the journey to the festival was made by bicycle.
Article 7. Alternative Prizes
The winners cannot choose to receive the equivalent in cash or in other items of
the won prizes and cannot request changing the awarded items.
Article 8. Contest Rules
The contest rules document is available to any requester on the website of the
festival at the following URL: www.electriccastle.ro/eco
Article 9. Miscellaneous
The organizer reserves the right to change the dates and the duration of the
competition and to make this public. Appeals must be made within 5 working days
of the closing date of the Contest at the Organizer's headquarters.
