Peace Corps VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT Title: ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT/LOGISTICS COORDINATOR Term: Long term Work hours: 40hours per week. 1. Basic Function of the Contract Position: The Administrative Assistant/Logistics Coordinator (called AA/Logistician) will work under the supervision of the Director of Management and Operations in collaboration with the Training Manager during Pre Service Training (PST) and other staff outside PST. S/He will provide a place for the successful implementation of the PST, In-service Training (IST) Reconnects and Close of service (COS). S/He will serve as a link between training and the administrative unit. The AA/Logistician will be expected to participate in all Training of Trainers workshops to prepare for and understand PST and may be expected to participate in all P & T meetings and Admin meetings for proper programmatic planning.. Maybe required to live and work at training center during training activities. S/He may be required to communicate directly with vendors to obtain quotes and invoices.. Assists the DMO or designee in coordinating with all vendors to ensure that products or services are received in a timely manner. Reports to DMO or designee on all procurements and expiry status of all items. Incumbent is involved in the coordination of activities related to the property maintenance and inventory support at the training center, considering participation in the physical inventory process, participation in sales, arrangement of the storage area, etc. May act as a back-up driver: Must become knowledgeable and supportive of Peace Corps safety and security policies and procedures, including the timely reporting of suspicious incidents, persons or articles. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education: WAEC Certificate or higher education is required High school diploma is preferred Prior Work Experience: Must have at least two years’ experience of managing people and supplies Must have at least three years safe driving experience. Language Proficiency: Must be fluent in written and oral English. Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes: Must possess and demonstrate high quality composition, personal organization and time management skills. Must have demonstrated ability to exercise judgment, discretion and professionalism in dealing with other organizations or vendors to accomplish desired results. Must dress in a neat and clean manner appropriate for meetings the public and exercise requisite social graces. Must have ability to do basic entries using a computer Must demonstrate an ability to work effectively under pressure of multiple tasks and deadline with continuous interruptions from staff, visitors and phones. Must demonstrate an ability to work effectively in a team Must have a clean driving license and experience with driving different models of vehicles.
