A personal highlight for me has been the review of TPAC, a
series of advanced driving tactics lead by Andy Banes and Darren Pat Bramwell
Symes-Goodman aimed at ensuring that EMoPPs are ready to go

Niche continues to roll out and at the time of writing this
message Leicestershire is live on the Niche system without
any major hiccups. Our teams have delivered over 6000 days
of training in a 3 month period. Niche Training commenced in
Northamptonshire on 11th May and I am grateful for those
Trainers who are supporting this initiative in Northamptonshire.

Team of the Year Nominations
Two L&D teams were recently nominated for team of the year. The Derbyshire Core
Training Team and the regional Qualification Assessing Team. Although neither team
were successful, both deserve a big well done for the nominations.

FOCUS ON: OFFICER SAFETY TRAINING
Launch of Aspire Training Events
The OST Team ran an Officer Safety Event at Northanmptonshire HQ in May to a
varied audience and the feedback from the delegates was all very positive.
Thomas Bryant, Higher Officer for the Home Office Operational Safety Unit, emailed
“The venue was excellent, everything we needed and it really helped the smooth
running of the day. The trainers couldn’t be more accmmodating or welcoming. A big
thank you to the trainers, security and those involved.”
He went on to say “For any future events in the area, I will be making you my first
port of call. Your help and assistanc has been much appreciated”.
CoP Meets EMCHRS
With Northanmptonshire Police looking to recruit 900 specials, they are recruiting in
large numbers. As a large group cannot be facilitated at Nothants or OST, the team
are running a course at Ryton for 65 attendees over 4 weekends. 3 weekends will be
spent on OST, and 1 on First Aid.

Sophie Completes London Marathon
After completing the London Marathon, Sophie Cookson would
like to thank everyone who supported and sponsored her. She
crossed the finish line in 4 hours, 45 minutes despite clocking
up almost a full extra mile ducking and weaving through the
crowds!
Sophie said “I had an amazing experience and would
recommend anyone who has considered doing the London
Marathon to go for it”.
Over £800 has been raised for Cats Protection which will pay
for them to look after 6 cats until they find their forever homes.
If anyone else wishes to sponsor her, you can do so at www.
