The Lenoir Police Department escorted all “Seussetts” to the Family Resource Center on Harper Avenue. Cat in the Hat greeted everyone into the resource center for cake and punch. Many of the folks walking in the parade dressed as characters from Dr. Seuss famous books. Small children rode in strollers or wagons decorated for the occasion. The March Madness activity focused on gross motor skills. The men and children played different games using balls. It wasn’t your traditional basketball game. The men rolled the ball on the floor, bounced the ball and threw the ball to the children. They also showed the children how to dribble and toss balls into baskets. The group discussed how the various ways of playing with balls builds school readiness skills for their children. In April, the men and children will be at Mulberry Park for a fun evening in the park. Come join Men Zone April 30th at Mulberry Park!
