The Cat in the Hat
Dr. Seuss ABC
Green Eggs and Ham
On Saturday, February 28th over a
hundred people lined up at Caldwell Memorial Hospital to parade
down Mulberry Street in honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday. The Lenoir
Police Department escorted all “Seussetts” to the Family Resource
Center on Harper Avenue. Cat in the Hat greeted everyone into
the resource center for cake and punch.
Many of the folks walking in the parade dressed as characters from
Dr. Seuss famous books. Small children rode in strollers or wagons
decorated for the occasion.
What a great way to bring literacy
awareness to our community!

Men Zone
Jump into Spring
The Men Zone celebrated March Madness
with their children at Quest For Life
Wellness. The March Madness activity
focused on gross motor skills. The men and
children played different games using balls. It
wasn’t your traditional basketball game. The
men rolled the ball on the floor, bounced the
ball and threw the ball to the children. They
also showed the children how to dribble and
toss balls into baskets. The group discussed
how the various ways of playing with balls
builds school readiness skills for their
children.
In April, the men and children will be
at Mulberry Park for a fun evening in the
park. Come join Men Zone April 30th at
Mulberry Park!
When children are provided outdoor
learning activities these experiences can be very
powerful and fun! What are some fun outdoors
activities you and your child or family like to do?
Here are a couple EHS can think of…
 Explore the yard to see what new flowers are






beginning to grow
Make bird feeders or bird baths
Plant flowers
Explore puddles after the rain
Run, jump through the yard
Ride bikes, take walks
Lay in the grass and name the different shapes
cloud makes
Enjoy your spring activities!
