President’s Message
Fellow Lions,
Since June is the final month of this Lion's year, I think that we should reflect on
the many "firsts" that our club accomplished this year. Some of these are: our 90th
anniversary celebration, our bus trip to Washington, DC, and placing a wreath on "The
Tomb of the Unknown Soldier", completing the CEP project, cleaning the Tom Grater
Park, endorsing the "Power Pack" project, sponsoring an Ephrata Boro planter,
contributing to the newly formed midget football program, purchasing a brick for the
Winters Memorial, etc. etc.
We also had a record setting Sports Card Show, which enabled us to make
larger donations than previous years.
The success that our club has accomplished this year, is due to the hard work
and cooperation of "YOU", the membership. I am extremely proud of our club. I Thank
and congratulate all of you for a Great Year.

outstanding
community service
during the month
of April. She is a
Leo serving as
president last year and secretary this year. She

Jazz Band and Concert Band and sings in the
school’s chorus and select choir. She also
volunteers at the Ephrata Public Library. She
plans to attend Millersville to major in business

Lions Appreciation Day at Beacon
Lodge
Sunday, July 19th is Lions Appreciation Day at
Beacon Lodge. This is a day to tour the camp,
have a chicken BBQ lunch for $10, and see the
campers put on a talent show. If you are
interested in attending, reservations must be
made for the chicken BBQ. Let Secretary Bob
know by July 1st if you wish to attend.
PA Lions Beacon Lodge 500 Club
Lion Bonnie Eberly is collecting your $5.00 for
Beacon Lodge 500 Club until the June 4th
meeting.
This money helps in the routine
maintenance of the camp. This year, more than
ever, Beacon Lodge is in need of this money.
In the past, Beacon Lodge has received financial
assistance from the PA state government. With
the state cutbacks, Beacon Lodge, along with
other similar facilities, have lost this assistance.
Timbers
Lions Bob and Bonnie Eberly are planning on
going to Timbers on July 16th. Please let Lion
Bob or Bonnie know if you are interested in
attending. We do not have the cost at this time.
Menu and Programs for the Ephrata Lions at the Amvets for 2014 -2015

glasses, 396 sunglasses, and 1,562 lens. He also turned $455 for broom sales.

Secretary Bob has the following shirts available, 90 Anniversary shirts: (2) 2XL, and

Dues
Each year we have had Lions resign from
the club after the beginning of the new
Lions year starting July 1st. The club is
required to pay half of International and
State annual dues for each member of
record on July 1st and January 1st.
Unfortunately Lions that resign after July
1st are paid for by the club, while the
resigning member does not want to pay if
they are resigning. If a Lion does not pay
their dues, they end up being dropped for
nonpayment rather than in good standing.
Time to Pay Your 2015-2016 Dues
Regular dues are $110. Dues paid before June 30th receives a $25 discount ( $85).
Dues paid after June 30th, pay $110 and dues paid late after September 17th and
before October 26th pay $160. Family members: The Primary members pays full
regular members dues and any other member in the house pay half the dues. Dues
should be given to or sent to Asst. Treasurer Brad Lauderman, 1015 Dawn Avenue,
Ephrata, PA 17522. Checks will be cashed after July 1st. Note that the board voted
not to have affiliate member status and no longer have an attendance requirement for
regular and member at large members.
