For over half a century Cresta have both designed and
manufactured exclusive ranges of bedroom furniture
from their factory in the heart of West Yorkshire.
For the last 30 of those years the company has been owned and
managed as a family business with the intent to produce and supply
high quality, innovative products at affordable cost.
The Scallywag range has evolved over that time period to become
a leading brand in children’s bedroom furniture, based on the guiding

All timber is carefully sourced from Northern Scandinavia with
emphasis on sound and tightly grained products. Timber is purchased
exclusively from reliably managed and responsible forests where the
mills advocate a policy of biodiversity and regeneration.
Our continued commitment to this programme helps to ensure a
sustainable, natural raw material resource for generations to come.

PRODUCT
The phrase “inspired by children, designed
by parents” is a very real concept for our company.
As our own children came along, it was our intention
to create a flexible range of products that would grow
with them from their first bed right through to teenage years.
• Glued mortice & tenon or hardwood dowel joints.
• Modern fittings for ease of assembly in those tight corners
• Wide mattress slat bed base for rigidity, strength and even
weight distribution.
• Wide ladder treads to protect those little feet (& the bigger ones
when changing bedding!)
• Two frame colours: White or Honey together with a variety of
contemporary, stylish and vibrant colour options
• Beds can be supplied 6” shorter for those tighter spaces.
Please note that the shorter Starter Bed would only be compatible
with Cabin Conversion kits and are not for use with High Sleeper or
Bunk Conversions.

The flexibility of Scallywag lends itself to children in their first bed
right through to teenagers wanting their own space for leisure and study.
The choice of two frame colours combined with the variety of panel
colours, provides an element of individual design setup which can be
mixed & matched over and over again. The possibilities with Scallywag
are almost endless. It has been tried, tested and loved by our own kids
and we hope your children will love it too.

All our Bunks are designed to meet current safety legislation requirements.
Bunk Bed safety is of paramount importance and has influenced the design
more than any other factor. Both the ‘Boston’ and ‘Wooldale’ Bunk Beds are
solid, chunky and extremely robust made from top quality Scandinavian Pine
– well capable of withstanding the rigors of youth and would comfortably

Each Bunk can be easily converted into two single beds when more space
allows, four extra ball turnings are included for this purpose. Once again,
