American Craft Council salutes San Francisco’s fine craft collectors and trendsetters, the Style Makers:
Roberta Gonzales, Lisa Bayne, Jan Wahl, Tim Wu and eight others
WHAT:
More than 230 artists unveil handcrafted designs in fashion, jewelry, home décor, green
craft and more at the American Craft Council Show in San Francisco, August 3 – 5, 2012
at the Fort Mason Center. Shop a diverse array of limited-edition pieces crafted from
clay, fiber, glass, metal and more at the largest juried craft show in the West. Debuting
new this year are the ‘Bride-to-Be’ and ‘Men’s Dept.’ categories showcasing crafty
selections for brides and guys. The new ‘Foodieware’ category highlights epicurean
kitchen art and wares, and look for San Francisco artists in the new ‘Local’ category.
Lastly, the new ‘Blue Chip’ category offers luxury one-of-a-kind pieces valued at $10,000
or more. The special ‘$5 After 5’ Friday night event is back by popular demand, offering
$5 general admission after 5:00 p.m.
New for the 2012 show, the American Craft Council salutes San Francisco’s Style
Makers, local personalities who make a commitment to handmade crafts as devotees
and trendsetters. Style Makers are ambassadors of art who value unique one-of-a-kind
objects that reflect their personal style and flair. Joining the ranks of this year’s Style
Maker’s are CBS5 anchor Roberta Gonzales, San Francisco Chronicle columnist Leah
Garchik, KRON TV host Jan Wahl, Artful Home CEO Lisa Bayne and Zerodivide strategist
Tim Wu among others.
DEBUTING
THIS YEAR:
Bride-to-Be: Highlighting built-to-last and one-of-a-kind items created with brides and
the wedding season in mind.
Men’s Dept.: Showcasing cool stuff, handmade for men ranging from accessories and
clothing to home décor.
Foodieware: Utilitarian designs for the artistic chef including kitchen art and wares.
Local: Spotlight on local San Franciscan artists who present their innovative crafts on a
national stage.
Blue Chip: Featuring luxury designs and stunning pieces valued at $10,000 or more in
this new category.
