Week:9
Theme: chemical Reactions
Date: (Mar.29th – April 2nd 2015)
Dear Parents,
Please see that your child completes the homework activities for this week. Listed below are the class activities and homework activities, in
addition to the key terms to know for the week.
MS-PS1-5. Develop and use a model to describe how the total number of atoms does not change in a chemical
reaction and thus mass is conserved.

part of an atom specifying their different electrical charges and
position in the atom)
bulk quantity under given conditions) that can be used to identify it. (MS-PS1-2)

Voice Homework 6
The three basic parts of an atom: electrons, protons, and
neutrons. Electrons are the smallest of the three particles that
make up atoms. Electrons are found in shells or orbitals that
surround the nucleus of an atom. Protons and neutrons are found
in the nucleus. They group together in the center of the atom.

model of an atom they will choose)
DCI. Matter is conserved because atoms are conserved in physical and chemical
processes. (MS-PS1-5)
