Some of us have ignored the hard sayings; others of us have hoped for them to be explained away. At best, many of us have simply swallowed them like bad-tasting medicine. HOLY WEEK SCHEDULE: In our sermon series, SorryNotSorry, we will affirm the truth of all that Jesus said. Rather than choosing to believe only the sayings of Jesus which affirm our values and image of Christ, we will seek to embrace all that Jesus said. Our hope is that we will be shaped by all of Jesus’ words, the easy ones and the hard ones, those that are welcomed and those which are not. Maundy Thursday April 2 7:30 p.m. Sanctuary May the hard words which Jesus spoke, become for us gospel (good news). Join us for worship the Sundays after Easter as we look at the hard sayings of Jesus for which we are SorryNotSorry. In order to gain a better understanding of this ministry, consider one resident recipient of benevolence support whom we will call Mary Jane. She has a medical condition that has made her disabled and unable to care for herself. She has lived in a room at one of the UMRH healthcare centers for more than twenty-three years. Although Mary Jane has no biological family, she does have a very close family who love her dearly. That family is the staff of the healthcare center.
