The skin is the largest organ in our bodies. One of the main functions of the skin is to
protect the body from the harmful effects of the environment. To enable this, skin has a
semi permeable barrier, allowing passage of some substances both into and out of the
body. Personal care products contain substances that can be either absorbed into the
body or prevent or change excretion from the skin. For this reason, we need to be aware
of the products we apply to our skin. Many products that claim to be natural contain only
small amounts of natural ingredients and many unnatural and even harmful ingredients.
These substances can be absorbed by our skin into our bodies and accumulate in the
tissues over time. This can result in systemic effects causing harm and dysfunction in our
bodies. In addition, many personal care products contain substances that are derivatives
of petroleum products. Busy, stressful lifestyles combined with the drying effects of air
conditioning, heating and the harmful effects of the sun, wind and environmental
pollution are damaging to our skin leaving it dull, dry and flaky, thus diminishing its
integrity and ability to protect.

There are four beautiful ranges of soap that are placed into categories based on their
fragrance type. Accessories are also featured.
Addiction Naturale soaps are made on a base of primarily olive oil, with rice bran oil, palm
and coconut oil added for the qualities of durability and lather that they add to the finished
bar. Olive oil has many positive benefits when used in soaps. It is especially mild and has
good moisturising qualities. It helps to provide a breathable film on the skin that assists to
retain moisture whilst not inhibiting the skin’s protective functions such as sweating and
releasing dead cells. Some oils used in soap making will block these functions, thus
contributing to blemishes and irritation.
All soaps are mixed, poured, swirled and cut by hand, thus differences in appearance both
in colour and ‘tops’ may occur. This adds to the appeal of the product. The soaps are
nourished with additives such as oatmeal, manuka honey, shea butter, cocoa butter, aloe
vera, herbs and goat’s milk. Australian and French clays assist deep cleansing, exfoliation
and cell rejuvenation.
Addiction Naturale soaps produce a creamy, dense lather leaving your skin soft and
sweetly fragranced. Glycerin is a natural by product of the soap making process and unlike
commercial soap that removes this valuable product for use in other products, Addiction
Naturale soaps retain their glycerin. Being a natural humectant, glycerin will draw
moisture to itself increasing the gentle qualities of these soaps. To improve the life of your
soap, ensure it is kept out of water between uses, a well drained soap dish is ideal.
