Grain Research Institute (IIGranos) and Agroindustrial Group Of Grains (GAIG) of the
Ministry of Agriculture (MINAG) have the pleasure to announce the celebration of the 6th
RICE INTERNATIONAL MEETING and II SYMPOSIUM OF GRAINS which be held in Havana
from 25 – 29 of May of 2015 at the Convention Centre in Havana, Cuba.
We would like to rely on a wide participation of researchers, producers, extension officers,
students and executives from all over the world that allow everyone to discuss about the
most recent results and the perspectives of development of grains for human and animal
foods.
Is our pleasure give you a warm welcome to Havana and your attendance will help us to
enhance the level of the event and you will have the opportunity to know the hospitality of
the Cuban people.
The objective of the event is to contribute the transference of technologies, to encourage the
updating of knowledge about genetic diversity as well as sustainable and efficient practices in
production of rice, beans, maize, sorghum, soybeans, and other grains.

Methods of Participation.
Papers can be presented in oral presentation or posters. Scientist committee will define the
modality of presentation for each submitted works, and will inform to authors.
Ways in which the Meeting will be hold:
Magister lectures (50 minutes of duration)
Symposia
Round Tables
Workshops.
Rules for the presentation of Resumes.
The Resumes (up to 250 words) typewriting in a format of “8 1/2 x 11” (21.59 cm x 27.94
cm), in letters size 10 Arial type, space of 1.0 and a margin of 2.5 cm for each side. A large
Resume of 3 to 5 sheet of paper is required for it publication in the Meeting memoirs which
be edited in a disc. All resumes must have: Title, name of author (s), Institutions and
respectively addresses, short resume in Spanish and English, Materials and Methods used,
Results, Discussion, Conclusions (recommendations if the author consider) and Bibliography
References. Works will be send to contact addresses indicated in this information sheet.
End date for sending works: 31 of March, 2015.
Confirmation of attendance: Confirmation of accepted papers should be communicated at the
time those were received and approved by the scientist committed.
