Canning: Berry Jams and Jellies

Come out to get some canning basics and demonstrations on the process of canning
jams and jellies. Pre-registration is required by June 1. Cost: $20. NCC Extension

What Every Child Should Know About Their Loved Ones’ Finances

This program is designed to help family caregivers understand the type of financial information and documents
needed so they can begin a conversation about caring for an aging parent or loved one. Please pre-register.

Water Bath Canning 101
June 13
9:30am– 1:00pm
This session will provide you with the info you need to can and preserve food safely using a water bath.
A textbook will be provided. Space is limited. Pre-registration is required by June 8. Cost: $30.

Opportunity Knocks: Reversing Current Obesity Trends

Part of the I AM MOVING, I AM LEARNING childcare curriculum. Focus is on increasing physical activity during
daily routines, as well as through specific movement activities. It will also promote incorporating healthy food
choices daily. Pre-registration required. Cost: $17. NCC Extension Office.
Gardening
Pest and Beneficial Insect Walk
June 24
4:00pm– 6:00pm
Learn to identify insects and diseases, as well as beneficial insects in the landscape
with a walk along the James F. Hall trail in Newark.
CREDITS: 2 Pest., 1 CNP. Cost: $15.
