Information about your FBI Criminal History Report
Following is general information about NCR as an FBI-approved Channeler and also information
that you may find helpful:

National Credit Reporting is one of the few companies in the U.S. to be selected by the FBI to be
an FBI-approved Channeler. An FBI-approved Channeler helps expedite the criminal history
record information on behalf of the FBI. This service is provided in accordance with U.S.
Departmental Order 556-73, under regulatory authority of28CFR16.30-34. The Departmental
Order states that an individual may obtain a copy of hislher FBI criminal identification record,
upon request, for review and correction purposes, to challenge the information on record, and
other court-related matters.
Your consumer FBI Criminal History Report is printed on secure, tamper-proofpaper. This type
ofpaper does not allow for copies to be made; it will show "VOID" on the copied document.
Challenging Information Reported by the FBI
You may challenge your criminal history information if you have proof or supporting
documentation as to the discrepancy in question. There are two options on how to request a
change or correction. The first option is to contact the agency(ies) that submitted the information
to the FBI and request that they provide the FBI with updates to your Criminal History
Summary.
The second option is to send a written record request, along with your supporting
documentation, to the following address:

The FBI CJIS Division will only commence updates to records if/when they have confirmed

Information for Apostille and/or Authentication Certificate of FBI Criminal History Report
National Credit Reporting's FBI Criminal Reports may be submitted to the U.S. Department of
State, in order to obtain an Apostille and/or Authentication Certificate. Please visit the U.S.
