Information to sign in to MyMathLab: Online Assignments: Each online assignment has a due date. Any technical issue such as internet access, computer malfunction, etc. is responsibility of the student to address and it will not be considered a reason to change the due dates of the assignments. Calculator: A graphing calculator is required for this class. A TI-84 is the suggested model. Calculators built into cell phones or any other electronic communication devices Calculators with a typewriter keypad (letter keys in QWERTY format)—Note: Letter keys not in QWERTY format are permitted. Test: There are 3 tests scheduled. No makeup for missed tests. In the event of a documented medical emergency the grade of the final exam will substitute the grade of the missed test. Knowledge of previous sections might be assumed for some tests. Final Exam: Thursday, June 4, 2015 from 9:00 to 11:00 am. The final exam is mandatory and if you miss the exam you automatically fail the class. Attendance: You may be dropped from the class if you miss the equivalent of one week of classes. However, it is your responsibility to drop the class if you decide not to finish the course. If your name appears on the grade roster at the end of the semester and you did not attended during the semester, you will be assigned a Fail grade. Therefore, be sure to drop the class if you do not intend to finish the course. Grading: Tests (3) Online homework Final Exam 60 % (20% each) 10 % 30 % Grading is on a straight scale: 90 – 100% A, 80 – 89% B, 70 – 79% C, 60 – 69% D, < 60 % F. Zero tolerance cheating policy: I assume that all students in this class will pursue their education with integrity and honesty. Any cheating or dishonest behavior shall be reported to the Vice President of student Services for disciplinary action. Math 270 – Linear Algebra: Upon completion of the course the student will be able to perform a real-world task requiring Linear Algebra mathematics that demonstrates meaningful application of essential knowledge and skills. Examples of essential knowledge and skills at the Linear Algebra level may include but are not limited to: a) Performing elementary matrix and vector operations in Euclidean n-space and using them in applications, b) Solving a system of linear equations using matrix methods.
