For 35,000 years olive oil has been manufactured in the region of Benevento and within Benevento there is an even smaller region known as San Lorenzo, where the conditions have come together by providence to provide the perfect environment for creation of the ultimate olive oil in the world. First: The hills upon which the olives grow has a southern exposure, optimum for growth. Second: The olives used for San Lorenzo Olive Oil are picked from a minimum altitude of 200 meters and a maximum of 500 meters. Too high or too low and the product is completely different.
