FAIRfest 2015 Art Poster!

FAIRfest is Fairfield, Iowa’s new annual and FREE music festival. The event includes 35
local, regional and nationally recognized bands playing over 3 days on a 40-foot stage in
front of the Fairfield Arts and Convention Center. Speakers, workshops, a kid’s corner, a
beverage garden, food and exhibit vendors and volunteers make a community celebration
that attracts music lovers from all over Iowa and the Midwest.
Held the third weekend in June, (19-21, 2015) the event is sponsored by solar-powered
KRUU 100.1 FM and KMCD Classic 96 radio stations.

Poster art must be received by 5 p.m., April 17th, 2015 at the Fairfield Art Association's
Art Studio, inside the Fairfield Arts and Convention Center, 200 North Main Street,
Fairfield, IA. Hours are 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday -Friday.
Poster contest winner will be selected and notified by May 1, 2015.
Non-winning submissions may be picked up at FAA office during the month of May.
After May 30, 2015, any remaining submissions will become the property of FAIRfest.
Upon receiving the one-time payment of $500 in prize money, the winning artwork
becomes the sole property of FAIRfest and will be used for the organization’s desires
without further compensation to the artist.
The artwork chosen may be used in whole or in part as the official poster for Fairfest ‘15
and in the development of our retail merchandise.
Artists under the age of 18 must have parental signature on entry form to receive prize.
The winning artist agrees to be present at the festival on Saturday, June 20, from opening
until 6 p.m. to autograph posters and souvenirs.
The winning artist agrees to sign and number 100 prints within 30 days of request from
FAIRfest organizers.
What the Art Poster Should Have:
This is an art poster contest, an impressionistic piece that need not name the particulars of the event,
such as dates, names of bands or speakers, but rather a graphic and artistic interpretation of Fairfest.
Your entry should incorporate the following elements:
• Festival Themes: Music ~ Art ~ Food-Sustainability-Fairfield ~
• Festival Location: Fairfield, Iowa ~
• Festival Name: FAIRfest ’15 (artist has discretion over logo font, size, and style)
• The generous use of bold colors
• Be a finished size of 18 inches horizontally by 24 inches vertically
