, Be Kind to Animals Week this spring with a poster contest. Create a poster with the theme “Pets are our friends!” Contest Rules • Contest is open to kids in grades 1-8. • Posters must be no more than 12” X 18” in size and no smaller than 8.5” x 11” (letter size), on unlined paper. • Any medium is acceptable (crayons, markers, paint, etc.). with artwork. • Posters will be judged on appearance and demonstration of the theme. • To demonstrate the theme, words must be included on your poster. • Only those posters with correct spelling will be considered for judging. (Note: no apostrophe on “Pets”.) • Adults may help with spelling but should not contribute to the artwork. • Tape the entry slip onto the back of the poster or include the information on the back: student’s name, address, parent’s name, parent’s phone number, student’s school, teacher’s name and grade. • Winners will be notified by April 30, 2015. Prizes A winner will be selected for each grade. Winners will receive a gift bag of prizes, choose the name of an Animal Friends dog, cat, or bunny, and be invited, along with their families, to a reception during May. Honorable Mention Winners will receive to the reception. Winning posters will be displayed at Animal Friends through September 2015. Deadline The deadline is Tuesday , April 14, 2015. Entries must be postmarked or dropped off at Animal Friends by that date. Entries cannot be returned to the artist via mail, become the property of Animal Friends, and may be used for display or promotional purposes.
