The Rustico Story
The first journals we created in 1998 drew admiration and applause from delighted
friends and family. After significant interest from local ski resorts and boutiques,
I knew we had found support for our high-quality handmade leather products.
Rustico was officially founded in 2001 and, on the strength of our top-grain
cowhide and proprietary creation processes, we have become a respected maker
of handmade and custom leather products throughout the world.

A Craftsman’s Touch
One key to great artisan-based manufacturing is
starting with authentic materials. Our seasoned
craftsmen select leathers from tanners in the
United States because of the top-grain thicker
weight cowhide, different from other companies
which usually use inferior thin cowhide for their
journal products. Every product we create is
a unique piece that showcases the leather’s
weathered and aged patina.
The secret to our success is our people. Every
product we make is a custom piece, so our products
never sit on a shelf collecting dust. Our employees
have years of experience in designing, crafting and
assembling our products and put care and attention
to detail in every order. Everything from the
colors and finishes to the cuts and stitching are
specifically designed by true artists.

Over the years, celebrities have recognized the beautiful craftmanship of
our handmade leather products. Oprah Winfrey has purchased leather gifts
and keepsakes from Rustico. Motivational speaker Anthony Robbins and
country music stars Brookes and Dunn, have flocked to our distinctive line
of American-made leather goods.
The Country Music Association ordered custom made leather CD cases
that they presented to Kenny Chesney with all of his CD catalog contained
in them. The CMA was so impressed by these custom CD cases, duplicate
pieces were created to be placed in the country music exhibit at the
Smithsonian Institute.
Top entertainment industry brands like Disney’s Imagineering Department,
HBO, TNT, Dreamworks Studios and Warner Bros. have all purchased
custom Rustico products.
Several years ago, even Pope John Paul II was presented with one of our

Our debossing process imprints the logo into the
