FAMILY GUIDE
THE EVENT
The hugely popular free Stratford Festival of Motoring 2015 will
accelerate into action in Stratford on Avon town centre on
Sunday 3rd and Bank Holiday Monday 4th May. This unique
event is one of the few times in a year where the streets of
Stratford are closed, creating a fun family atmosphere.
The historic town centre streets will be filled with over 300 high
performance motors and classic cars. This will be
supplemented by invited vehicles from organisations such as
the Motor Heritage Centre Gaydon and the Auto Adrenalin Club.
As the unique cars, including stunning supercars and vintage
classics, return to town after their scenic drives, there will be a
Lap of Honour through the town between 930 and midday.
Contributing towards the free fun family friendly atmosphere
will be live music from The Rocking Dinosaurs and The Voice
participant Karl Loxley, street entertainers and more. The cars
will spread as far as the Bancroft Gardens and there will be a
lively market.
The family area will be full of things for children to do, whether
they prefer action with Go karting, the Bouncy Castle, a
climbing wall or quieter art activities. Emergency services
vehicles will be on view for the kids to clamber in too! What
child doesn’t love a fire engine?! Take part in the children’s free
Treasure Hunt, in the Family Area at Rother Market, for a chance
to win some cool prizes such as family tickets to the Stratford
Butterfly Farm and the Creaky Cauldron.
On Sunday 3rd May it is also The Children’s Book Day at
Stratford Literary Festival. It is held at The Arts House on Rother
Street so a perfect match! For more information go to
www.stratfordliteraryfestival.co.uk/event/childrens-book-day
Watch practical demonstrations on an introduction to car
maintenance; see car parts that are normally under a car which
are provided by Kwik Fit. And new drivers to the road can
receive specific advice.
This free event has tons to see and get involved in. Go to
www.stratfordfestivalofmotoring.co.uk for more
information. “Stratford on Avon is a must-visit this May bank
holiday for anyone with so much as a drop of petrol running
through their veins.”
