Holy Trinity Anglican Parish with St Stephen’s Methodist Church, Stratford St John’s Whangamomona, St Peter’s Purangi, and St James’ Matau Worship times: Sunday 10:00am Family Eucharist and Sunday School Wednesday 10.00 am Eucharist in the Lady Chapel April 2015 Pewsheet Love Is the Only Goal Jesus said the whole law (and there were about 897 of them at that point) and the prophets, too, are summed up in the two great commandments: ―to love God with your whole heart and your whole soul and to love your neighbour just as you love yourself‖ (Matthew 22:37-40). It’s almost too simple, and yet as you well know it’s almost too hard. It’s sadly easier to just obey laws and to live inside of an always defeating reward/punishment system. Somehow a win/win worldview where God wins and the soul wins too—is largely unbelievable…until you experience and allow God’s grace. It is by grace that you are saved, through faith, not by anything of your own, but by a pure gift from God, and not by anything you have achieved. Nobody can claim the credit. You are God’s work of art. —Ephesians 2:8-10 (From Richard Rohr’s Daily Meditations) Maureen Armstrong Coming Parish Events Every Wed 2 April Thur 3 April Fri 5 April Sun 12 April Sun 19 April Sun 22 April Wed 26 April Sun 28 April Tue 30 April Thur 10.00am Eucharist Service 6.30 pm Prayer Meeting Maundy Thursday service, 700pm Good Friday– meet at Holy Trinity at 9.30am for procession Easter Day, 10.00am Service. 10.00am Service 10.00am Service Vestry Meeting, 7.30pm 10.00am Service, followed by AGM Seasons 2.30-5.00pm Seasons 2.30-5.00pm MAUNDY THURSDAY SERVICE 2ND APRIL Starting at 7.00pm, will include the foot washing ritual, and the “stripping”of the altar.
